IREMB CONFERENCE 2019
Actors operating within energy systems increasingly find themselves caught up in messy transition processes as they pursue a low carbon future. The transition requires new modes of valuation and calls for a redistribution of agency among actors. How do we value energy, the resources that produce it, and the infrastructure that delivers it, when it is no longer derived from fossil fuels extracted from the earth?
A key tenet of the IREMB conference 2019 is that energy system transitions require shifting existing ways of knowing and valuing in order to re-qualify actors, technologies, market arrangements and fuels.
